Who wants to go to Brittany, France? I didn't but now I love it.

I live in Brittany (Bretagne) , France. A region in France not so well know to foreigner and even the french themselves have little interest in vacationing here. Despite the negatives of this region, wet and rainy, it is beautiful, green and calm. A month and a half ago, had the opportunity to go on a day trip with my french family to see Saint Gruénolé, Benodet, Penmarch. These towns are just 20 to 30 minutes from each other. There, I saw magnificent Atlantic waves and landscape, and also met an old Breton lady who was selling her crochet lace products. As I gave her complement about her fine handy work, she told me that this craft will soon be extinct because no one wants to work for an euro a hour. It truly makes me sad that something so organic and beautiful will not be passed on because technology is slowly replacing  the traditional way of craft. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures of her product or the artist herself  but there are many great example online about Traditional Bretonne lace products and the culture itself. If next time you feel like travelling in France, think about coming to Brittany. It may surprise you.
